MRA State Process
Aurangabad Convention
The Third Annual convention of MRA took place in Aurangabad on 17th and 18th June 2002. Almost 1000 participants including the network partners, village level women activists, alliance partners were present. The theme for the inaugural session was Peace and Communal Harmony. Eminent freedom fighter Indutai Patankar and social activist Ram Puniyani, Subodh Wagale, Adv. Indavi Tulpule, Praveen Wagh and Neela Limaye participated in the convention.
The yearly process was shared at two levels. Firstly the collective consolidation of processes at the regional networks level and secondly the perception of grassroots women leaders. The integration process of the efforts by regional networks and that of women's independent village initiatives became apparent
A session was organized to devise strategies to strengthen and formalize these integration processes. One session was devoted to evolve strategies to build and strengthen alliances with like-minded groups and movements working on livelihood issues, communal harmony and on issues of dalit, adivasis and women.
